We sat down after one of her latest sessions to talk about how she feels during photoshoots, what motivates her, and what she enjoys outside of modeling.
How do you usually feel before a photoshoot?
Honestly, I still get a little nervous every time. Not because I'm scared, but because I want everything to go well. I start thinking about outfits, poses, my mood, and whether I slept enough. But once the camera comes out, those thoughts disappear pretty quickly.
What is the most important thing for you during a session?
Trust and communication. I need to feel comfortable with the photographer and know what kind of atmosphere we are creating together. I don't like pretending to be someone else. The best photos happen when I can relax and just be myself.
Do you pay attention to technical things like lighting and posing?
More than I used to. In the beginning I thought modeling was only about looking good, but now I notice everything. I pay attention to my posture, the angle of my face, my hands, even how I breathe. Lighting changes everything. A small change can make a photo feel completely different.
What tires you the most during long shoots?
Holding difficult poses for too long. People don't realize how physically demanding it can be. Sometimes your back hurts, sometimes your legs shake, and sometimes you repeat the same pose twenty times until everyone is happy with the result.
And honestly, the waiting can be exhausting too. Waiting while lights are adjusted or the set is changed takes energy in a different way.
And what gives you energy?
Seeing the results. When I look at the camera screen and think, "Wow, that's actually me," it gives me a huge boost.
I also love when the atmosphere is relaxed and people are having fun. Good music helps a lot. Coffee helps too, probably more than it should.
What have you learned about yourself through modeling?
That confidence is not something you wake up with one day. You build it slowly.
I've learned to stop focusing on small imperfections. Everyone has things they don't like about themselves. At some point you realize people don't remember those things. They remember your energy and how you make them feel.
Do you ever look at old photos of yourself?
All the time. Sometimes I laugh because I was so serious back then. I thought every picture had to be perfect.
Now I actually prefer photos where there is some personality. A smile that wasn't planned or a moment that feels real is usually more interesting than a perfect pose.
What do you enjoy outside of modeling?
I like simple things. Walking around the city with headphones, spending time with friends, watching movies, and drinking way too much coffee.
I also enjoy traveling around Estonia. There are so many quiet places near the sea where you can just switch your brain off for a while.
What would you say to someone who wants to start modeling?
Don't try to copy someone else.
You don't need to be the tallest, the most experienced, or the most confident person in the room. Just be reliable, be open to learning, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Everyone starts somewhere.
